ABOUT温習会

ONSHŪKAI

The word “onshū” means repeated practice or review. In Gion Kōbu, Onshūkai refers to a special performance in which geiko and maiko present the results of their daily training in dance, song, and musical accompaniment.
Held every October, Onshūkai is one of Kyoto’s cherished autumn traditions, standing alongside the spring Miyako Odori. Audiences can experience the refined beauty of Kyomai in the Inoue style, together with the sounds of shamisen, flute, and traditional song.
Please enjoy this stage that brings color and grace to autumn in Kyoto.
